Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She is an American Mexican actor. She also sings. Her mother raised her in the USA she was subject to many racial slurs which gave her feeling of being a bit unpopular. She began to gain confidence at the age of nineteen when she appeared in an audition. She received a lot of praise for her singing. This experience did not just help her gain confidence but changed her goals in the future. In 1992, she received her master's degree from the city's Julliard School. As she was turning 23 she began her career in Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, at 23 years old she made her film debut in You've Got Mail. The most notable accomplishment of her career occurred with her portrayal of The Lady of The Lake as Spamalot's first Broadway production. In addition to being the only actress to receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also well-received by critics. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC, she gained greater appreciation. Alongside being an acclaimed singer she has released two solo albums and a longer piece. In addition, she's an activist who fights in the fight for LGBT rights.
