Silk was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Silk is her father's daughter Peter Silk, a professor, and Ilkay Silk, a playwright and director. She was also known for her acting. Anna recalls her mother's work in the theatre and going to rehearsals. Silk featured in a few commercials where she was featured at a young age. She earned a Bachelors in Arts at St. Thomas University. Her early theater experience includes at least two productions in collaboration with Theatre St. Thomas: Seven Menus and The Kitchen. Silk relocated to Toronto in order to perform and improve in November of 1999. The following decade, she relocated into Los Angeles. She met her future spouse, Seth Cooperman, at an acting workshop located in Los Angeles, in 2007. They were engaged in 2009 and were they were married at the civil ceremony on the month of December in that same year. They renewed their vows on April 10th, 2011, in Fredericton, after the bride was converted to Judaism.
